JUST IN: Detroit Lions 2018 preseason schedule revealed

With the 2018 NFL Draft right around the corner, fans of the Detroit Lions and other teams around the league are starting to get excited about football.

Once the draft is completed, it will be time to look forward to training camp and the preseason schedule before the 2018 regular season finally kicks off.

On Wednesday, the NFL revealed the full 65-game game preseason schedule which will kickoff on Thursday, August 2nd with Hall of Fame game between the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens.

As far as our Lions go, they will open up their preseason campaign on the road against the Oakland Raiders. Here is what the Lions full preseason slate looks like.

Week 1 (August 9-13) @ Oakland Raiders

Week 2 (August 16-20) vs. New York Giants

Week 3 (August 24) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 4 (August 30-31) @ Cleveland Browns

As far as the regular season schedule goes, that is not expected to be released until a week or so before the start of the 2018 NFL Draft. That being said, we do know the opponents the Lions will be playing in 2018 and you see that by clicking here.

2018 Detroit Lions game-by-game predictions: Pre-free agency edition

In 2017, the Detroit Lions finished with a 9-7 record which was not good enough to get them into the NFL Playoffs. Just after the season concluded, the team announced that Jim Caldwell would not be returning for the 2018 campaign which meant the Lions would begin their search for a new head coach.

As we now know, former New England Patriots defensive coordinator, Matt Patricia, has been hired as head coach. In addition, former Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin has moved on and the coaching staff as a whole will look much different than a year ago.
