JUST IN: A pair of offensive linemen try out for Detroit Lions

This coming Sunday, the Detroit Lions will be in Miami to take on the Dolphins. With a win, the Lions would climb up to .500 and within striking distance of 1st place in the NFC North.

On Tuesday, a pair of offensive linemen were in town to try out for the Lions.

According to Howard Balzer, tackle Cole Gardner and guard/tackle Austin Pasztor were in town to work out for the Lions.

Gardner, who played his college ball at Eastern Michigan, was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2017 season. He was recently released by the Bucs.

Pasztor was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings back in 2012 after going undrafted. He has since played for three different teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, and most recently, the Atlanta Falcons. In his career, Pasztor has played in 65 games (43 starts) in six seasons.

WHOA! Detroit Lions’ CB watches birth of child on Facebook Live

Most people would agree that one of the greatest moments in their life was watching the birth of their children. Though it can be a scary moment for some, there is just something about being next to your wife and watching your child enter the world that takes your breath away.

In a story by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, he tells about a day in late July that Detroit Lionscornerback Nevin Lawson will never forget.

Lawson, according to the story, had just completed his first training camp practice when he got a call from his mother-in-law telling him that his wife was about to give birth to their first son. Unfortunately, his wife was in Florida and he was in Michigan which meant he would not have time to see the birth in person. Luckily, modern day technology (in this case, Facebook Live) allowed Lawson to watch the birth of his son in real time.
