This time of year with the trade deadline looming everything gets scrutinized. Every interview, every instagram page, and especially every tweet. Daniel Norris’s name has been linked to the Cubs, back when they were asking about Michael Fulmer too, but other than that rumor there hasn’t been much about the Tigers young lefty.
Then he tweeted this out today:
Birds don't stay in one place for long.
— Daniel Norris (@DanielNorris18) July 20, 2017
Now, this could be something out of nothing….or it could be something. The Tigers are selling as evidenced by their trading for J.D. Martinez to the Arizona Diamondbacks. What this tweet means may never be known, but one thing is for sure a young controllable left would probably bring more back to Detroit than J.D. did. Time will tell.
He was probably alluding to a song by the Carpenters:
Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.
Or not…
