Bachie’s appeal was denied after the senior tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in late October. According to Dantonio, he heard that decision about a week and a half ago.

NCAA rules dictate that a player guilty of performance enhancing drugs forfeits one full year of eligibility and also earns a ban from competition for 365 days from the date of the test.

He finished with 71 tackles, including 8.5 for loss and 3.5 sacks. Overall, Bachie started 34 of his 40 games and recorded 285 tackles, with 27.5 for loss, eight sacks and five interceptions.
