While with the Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford never had a formidable running game to help his cause.
When he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, Stafford had to be a bit excited about having RB Cam Akers in the backfield with him for the 2021 season.
Well, according to reports, that is not going to happen as Akers has suffered a torn Achilles on the eve of training camp.
Akers was the Rams leading running back in 2020 and he was expected to have the same role this coming season.
