Michigan legend Desmond Howard says Nebraska should be booted from Big Ten

On Tuesday, the Big Ten officially postponed college football for the fall, despite many coaches and players giving a last-ditch effort to save the season.

According to reports, the vote was 12-2 to postpone the season with the dissenting votes coming from Iowa and Nebraska.

Prior to the Big Ten’s final decision, Nebraska head coach Scott Frost floated the possibility of the Cornhuskers playing in another conference for the 2020 season.

“We want to play a Big Ten schedule. I hope that’s what happens. Our university’s committed to playing no matter what. No matter what that looks like and how that looks. We want to play no matter who it is or where it is.

“So we’ll see how all those chips fall. We certainly hope it’s in the Big Ten. If it isn’t, I think we’re prepared to look for other options,” Frost said.

Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos, who released a statement after the decision was made to postpone the season, seemed to be lock-step with what Frost said.

“We will continue to consult with medical experts and evaluate the situation as it emerges. We hope it may be possible for our student athletes to have the opportunity to compete.”

One person who is not happy about Nebraska’s comments is former Michigan legend Desmond Howard, who thinks the Cornhusker’s should be booted from the Big Ten unless they apologize publically.

“You think that they’re the only team that really wants to play? Of course not. All the teams and all the coaches want to play, but they’re not whining and crying and then talking about an exit — talking about leaving the conference. I think that at this point, Greeny, I would demand an apology from the chancellor and the president and Scott Frost. And not one behind closed doors — a public apology. Or, if I’m Kevin Warren right now, I’m working on a way to get their ass out of the Big Ten.”
