Michigan vs. Ohio State.
That is what it could come down to for quarterback recruit J.J. McCarthy, who according to 247 Sports is the No. 2 pro-style quarterback (No. 19 overall player) in the class of 2021.
McCarthy, who plays for La Grange Park Nazareth Academy in Illinois, recently visited the Michigan campus for the first time and he was blown away.
From 247 Sports:
“I really felt the love from the coaching staff like crazy,” McCarthy said. “A couple highlights for me would be bowling with Coach (Jim) Harbaugh and interacting with Coach (Ben) McDaniels as well as the rest of the coaching staff. Watching practice and seeing how McDaniels and Harbaugh were actually teaching and going through the drills was surreal.”
According to 247 Sports, respected analysts Steve Wiltfong, Allen Trieu, and Michigan insider Sam Webb all currently have McCarthy going to the Wolverines.
If you have not yet seen McCarthy sling it, check out these highlights. He truly looks like he could step onto a college field right now and compete for a job.
