Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh says Ohio State game is bigger than Michigan State game

This coming Saturday, Michigan and Ohio State will continue their rivalry when the Buckeyes invade the Big House.

Since Jim Harbaugh took over the Wolverines football program roughly five years ago, Ohio State has won all four matchups between the two schools and many have said that Harbaugh will never get over the hump.

On Monday, Harbaugh spoke to the media about the importance of the UM/OSU game and he noted that it is “bigger” than the Michigan State game.

From Detroit News:

“Very aware of the rivalry, having played in it, having coached in it, grew up here, my dad was a coach,” Harbaugh said Monday at his weekly news conference. “As I likened the Michigan State game to a state championship, this is even bigger – this two states’ championship, Michigan and Ohio. We’re excited about it. We’re excited for the challenge. I’m excited for the game. Up for and ready for the challenge.”

What would a win mean?

“It would be the state championship between two states,” Harbaugh said. “It would be big. Always is.”

Nation, just how important is it for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines to beat Ohio State this coming Saturday?
