The Detroit Pistons have been linked to Golden State Warriors point guard D’Angelo Russell, but according to Detroit Free Press beat writer Vince Ellis, don’t hold your breath on a potential deal.
“The Pistons have been linked to Golden State Warriors point guard D’Angelo Russell if you want to go deep into the rumor mill,” Ellis writes.
“I checked in with another league source and was told there is nothing “interesting going on.”
Russell signed a four-year, $117 million with the Warriors after he was acquired as part of the Kevin Durant sign-and-trade pact. And the Pistons could absolutely use help at the point guard position with Reggie Jackson still on the mend with a back injury and having played only two games this season.
Russell is averaging 22.4 PPG with 6.1 APG and 3.1 RPG so far in 15 games with Golden State, who are the worst team in the NBA’s Western Conference with a 5-22 record.
