Pistons’ Blake Griffin cleared to resume all basketball activities

The Detroit Pistons could be getting the most important part of their team back shortly.

Blake Griffin has been cleared by the team to resume all basketball activities, and is currently listed as day-to-day. He's missed the first nine games of this season as he recovered from off-season surgery to repair a meniscus tear.

Last year was a career year for Griffin, playing in 75 games and averaging 24.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG, and 5.4 APG. He helped the Pistons to a playoff berth, though he suffered the knee injury as the season wound down and wasn't fully healthy for the post-season, a four-game sweep at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Meanwhile, Derrick Rose (hamstring strain) continues a treatment and rehabilitation regimen. His progress for a return to action will be monitored on a day-to-day basis.
