We may have to wait a month or so to find out who the Detroit Lions hire to be their next head coach, but according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, there is a popular candidate who wants the gig.
On Tuesday, Birkett joined Mike Valenti and Rico Beard on the Valenti and Rico Show and he causally mentioned that San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh wants the Lions job.

“This is a job that he (Saleh) wants, it’s a hot name,” Birkett said.
Nation, if Saleh truly wants to coach the Lions, should they make the hire as soon as he is available?
