In fact, the Red Wings have never had a true alternate jersey during their storied history. They have donned different jerseys for special occasions, such as the 2009 and 2014 Winter Classics, along with the Centennial Classic in 2019, but they have never had a true alternate.
But according to rumors floating around the good old internet, the NHL has a “Fourth Jersey” program that every team will be participating in (even if they do not currently have a third jersey). That program is rumored to feature what are being called “Reverse Retro” jerseys.
These rumors really started to heat up after the “Reverse Retro” jerseys for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers were supposedly leaked.
Nation, would you be ok with the Red Wings adding an alternate jersey to the mix, or would you rather them stick with what they have? If you do want them to an alternate jersey, what would you like it to look like?
