Red Wings ink two ’09 picks to rookie deals

Late last week, the Red Wings announced the signing of 2009 7th round pick Adam Almqvist to a three year entry-level contract. Hawks Take First of Three

There are very few secrets between the Red Wings and Blackhawks. They play each other 6 times a year. They met in the Conference Finals in 2008. Both teams feature players that formerly played for the other side. They will only become more familiar with each other over the next couple of weeks. 3 Stars for February!

This is a feature that those of you familiar with my writing will remember. For those of you who are new readers, allow me to explain. Each and every game, I assign three stars to members of the two competing teams. They aren’t always consistent with the “Official Game Stars”, however, as I might feel someone had a particularly good game without getting much attention for it. Then, at the end of every month I add up what three Wings players had the most “3 Star Selections” and announce them as the Three Stars of the Month. At the end of the season, I will also have a Three Stars of the Season post. Everyone get it? Good. On to the fun stuff!
