Texas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun was injured this afternoon when he took a fastball pitch right off the mouth from Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias.

He appeared to be alert and was able to get up under his own power before being carted off the field. He’s been taken to the hospital, and manager Chris Woodward has gone with him, which may indicate the injury could be serious.

We send our best wishes to Calhoun and hope his injury isn’t as bad as it looked!
