Game notes:
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but all you need to know about this one is that the bullpen did what the bullpen does best — blow leads. Bruce Rondon came into the eighth inning and did basically they same thing he did Friday, not throw strikes, walk hitters, and create a mountain of crap for the other relievers to overcome; which of course, they could not. Daniel Norris pitched a great game, 6.1 IP, 7H, 3 ER, and 2 SO; but, it was all for naught as the Tigers lost 7-5.
Tomorrow Justin Verlander takes on Chris Sale in the final game of the series.
Tigers need better pitching.
I don’t know if I would go that far. Maybe it’s semantics, but I would say they need some bullpen help. Our starters have been good. Our offense has been good. But that eighth inning has been shaky at best. It’s still early, they just called up Jimenez..so we’ll see what happens.
