Game Notes:
Michael Fulmer was fantastic as he went 6 innings, gave up four hits and 0 ER, while striking out 4. James McCann got onto the home run train with a two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh. However, the bullpen blew a 4-0 lead in the top of the eighth, one a Pablo Sandoval 3 run home run. Yet, in spite of the bullpen’s struggles, this never-say-die lineup fought back in the bottom of the eighth scoring two runs, regaining the lead 6-5, started by newest Tiger, Mikie Mahtook‘s RBI double. Francisco Rodriguez again made it interesting in the 9th, but alas, the tigers held on for the win. Their 9th consecutive home opener win.
