Tom Izzo following Tuesday’s loss to Purdue: ‘I don’t care about the fan base’

On Tuesday, Michigan State had a golden opportunity at home as they played one of the top teams in the Big Ten, the Purdue Boilermakers. Unfortunately, for the Spartans and their fan base, Purdue was just too much to handle as the Boilermakers outscored MSU by 11 in the second half to win 84-73.

The Spartans (12-9, 4-4) have now lost three games in a row and four of their past five to drop to 4-4 in the Big Ten. Following the game, Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo was clearly upset after Justin Rose from Channel 7 WXYZ asked a question about the fan base.

Take a listen as Izzo starts off his response by saying, “I don’t care about the fan base.” He went on to talk about how he felt his team “got the short end of a couple calls,” and that the Spartans “just don’t have the bodies.”
