The Detroit Red Wings as of this publication hold a 2-0 lead over the Columbus Blue Jackets. On top of Michael Rasmussen’s first career goal, it’s also thanks to Dylan Larkin and a big milestone for him.
Larkin scored his 150th career point with the Red Wings on the penalty kill, when he got out on a breakaway. Going one-on-one with Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, he put on a few dekes, motorcycle-kicked, then put it in 5-hole on the backhand. A work of beauty.

Red Wings’ Michael Rasmussen scores his first NHL goal against Columbus [VIDEO]
In what has started as a great night for the Detroit Red Wings, it’s gotta be an even better one for rookie Michael Rasmussen. While Dylan Larkin is doing things like putting up his 150th and 151st career points, Rasmussen has gotten his first goal.
On the power play, Thomas Vanek took a pass behind the net from Gustav Nyquist. With Rasmussen heading into the slot, Vanek slipped him the puck from behind goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. In what Mickey Redmond calls a bang-bang play, he took the pass and immediately shoveled it into the net for his first career goal.
