If we had a nickel for every time we heard one of these infamous Rod Allen-isms during a major league season when talking about Jose Iglesias playing shortstop, we can all retire right now.
There are very few, if any, that are as silky smooth at the shortstop position than our very own Jose Iglesias. It’s almost not even fair for a player to possess the craft and wizardry that he has, and the number of hits he’s robbed from opposing hitters over the years. We’re also convinced that before moving back to Russia, former Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk passed off the honors of “Detroit’s Magic Man” to Iglesias.
