No. 19 Michigan Football’s Big Ten title hopes are still alive after today’s victory over the No. 14 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes at Michigan Stadium.
Defense ruled the afternoon as the Wolverines emerged victorious by a 10-3 final score. Their only touchdown came courtesy of Zach Charbonnet, whose two-yard rushing score completed a six-play, 70-yard drive in the first quarter.

It was Michigan’s only touchdown of the afternoon, but they made it stand.
Quarterback Shea Patterson finished 14 of 26 for 147 yards and an interception; Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley countered with three interceptions of his own while going 23 of 42 for 260 yards. Stanley hadn’t thrown an interception all year until this afternoon.
But as stated, Michigan’s defense ruled the day as they forced four turnovers and a season high eight sacks. Wolverines DE Kwity Paye led the pass rush with 2.5 sacks and two hurries before leaving the game with an injury in the third quarter.
The Wolverines were able to shut down Iowa on 4th down with 37 seconds remaining in regulation to seal the win, their fourth of the year.
Michigan will travel to Champaign for a matchup against Illinois next weekend.
