Iglesias, who joined the Tigers in 2013, played 130 games in 2017, hitting .255 with 54 runs batted in.

From the official Tigers press release:

The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with infielder José Iglesias, thus avoiding arbitration.

Iglesias, 28, established career highs with 33 doubles, six home runs and 54 RBI during the 2017 season, while hitting .255 (118×463) with 56 runs scored and seven stolen bases over 130 games. He led the team with 13 three-hit games, and ranked second on the team (min. 100 at-bats) with a .327 (36×110) batting average with runners in scoring position.

Iglesias has played in 531 games over six seasons at the Major League level, hitting .270 (478×1770) with 204 runs scored, 94 doubles, six triples, 16 home runs and 140 RBI.

The Tigers have avoided arbitration with all eligible players this offseason.

We are currently about a month and handful of days away from the pitchers and catcher of the Detroit Tigers reporting to Lakeland, Florida for Spring Training. With the arbitration deadline set for 1 P.M this afternoon, a few moves were made this week to round out the Tigers 40-man roster.

Friday’s deadline was for the arbitration-eligible players and clubs to exchange contract numbers. The offers need to be filed with the league, but there is nothing that keeps teams and players from negotiating after this deadline. Though some teams do use this as a hard deadline, and if not signed they will take their chances with a certain player in an arbitration hearing.
