5 Detroit Lions veterans who could be cut

[tps_header]

As Matt Patricia noted recently, the Detroit Lions are in the “dog days” of training camp.

That being said, these are the days where jobs are won and lost on NFL rosters and that is no different for the Lions.

Each year, there are players who are 100% locks to make a roster while others find themselves squarely on the bubble.

In this piece, I will identify 5 Lions’ veterans who could end up being cut before the regular season begins.

Nick Bawden was a player who before training camp actually started was looked at as a player who could end up on the outside looking in. That those thoughts came because he was not healthy enough to participate in OTAs along with some believing that a guy like Isaac Nauta could do the same job.

Prediction: Bawden has been very involved with the Lions’ offense so far in training camp and knowing how much new OC Darrell Bevell likes to establish the run, he should have a spot on the 53-man roster.
