With rookie Kerryon Johnson banged up, the Detroit Lions seem to be looking for some running back help.
According to reports, the Lions have worked out former Pro Bowl running back C.J. Anderson.

Anderson, who is 27-years-old, is in his sixth season in the NFL. He played his first five seasons with the Denver Broncos where he rushed for 3,051 yards and 20 touchdowns in 58 games (36 starts). In 2014, he was selected to the Pro Bowl after rushing for 849 yards and eight touchdowns in just seven starts with the Broncos.

The original reports from Adam Schefter stated, while Jones Jr. had sustained a knee injury, his ACL and MCL were intact and that it was a bone bruise to be evaluated day-to-day. This latest news points to there being more wrong than initially suspected. When asked to comment in his press conference, head coach Matt Patricia declined to add any further detail to the extent of the injury.
Jones ends his 2018 campaign with 35 catches for 508 yards and five touchdowns according to ESPN.com.
The Lions’ offense will now lean on up and coming WR Kenny Golladay as their deep threat and continue to use recent stand-out Bruce Ellington as the slot receiver with Theo Riddick coming out of the backfield until Kerryon Johnson is ready to return.
The Lions’ most recent loss sees them very far off in the distance in the hunt for the playoffs and this has called in to question what adjustments can be made to make anything of this season. It is looking more and more like the Lions’ fan base is ready to go after a high draft pick and call it in for the rest of 2018.
