BREAKING: Detroit Tigers sign veteran catcher

When the Detroit Tigers announced they were parting ways with James McCann, many shook their head wondering who would be the primary catcher in 2019.

As of now, Grayson Greiner, who has only 96 career at-bats at the MLB level is slotted in as the Tigers' Opening Day starting catcher with John Hicks as his backup.

Whether or not Greiner (26-years-old) is truly ready for The Show will be seen but it sounds like he will get the opportunity to prove himself.

On Monday, the Tigers got some (just in case) insurance by reportedly signing veteran catcher Hector Sanchez to a minor-league deal with an invite to Spring Training.

Sanchez, who is 29, most recently played for the San Diego Padres where he hit .235 with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs in 101 games over the past two seasons.

Michigan Football 2019 Game-By-Game Predictions

2018 was an interesting season for the University of Michigan. It all started off with a road loss to eventual College Football Playoff semifinalist Notre Dame, followed by 10-straight victories to get back into CFP contention, only to end abruptly with a devastating loss in Columbus against Ohio State. The Wolverines ended up getting selected to play in the Peach Bowl against Florida, where they were once again embarrassed. Overall, Michigan finished the season 10-3, which left many fans questioning the future of the program under head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Since then, Harbaugh has brought in a top 10 recruiting class and has poached three of the best assistant coaches in the nation.

So, what does that mean for 2019? Will it be another season without beating their biggest rival or can Harbaugh finally get Michigan over the hump?
