Christian Pulisic lifts up jersey, trolls Mexico during win for United States Men’s National Team

On Friday night, the United States Men's National Team took a little while to get on the board but when all was said and done, they walked away with a huge 2-0 win over Mexico in a World Cup qualifier game.

Earlier in the week, Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa opened his pie hole and gave the United States a bit of bulletin board material to help fire them up.

“Mexico has been that mirror in which [the United States] want to see themselves,” Ochoa said. “What they want to copy.”

Well, karma was alive and well when Christian Pulisic scored the first goal for the United States and then proceeded to pull up his jersey to reveal his t-shirt, which said, “Man in the mirror.”

Following the game, spoke to the media.

“I actually wrote it in a mirror,” Pulisic said. “No, I’m only kidding.”

“We’ve earned respect the last couple of times we’ve played them,” Pulisic said. “They understand what we’re about. We understand what they’re about. It’s what makes a great rivalry.”

“It’s a new era now,” said Timothy Weah. “Before the game Mexico was talking a lot of smack. Winning shuts them up. That’s the only way to earn respect and we have to keep earning it.”
