One of the bright spots for the Detroit Lions in 2016 was the emergence of defensive end, Kerry Hyder. Because of his efforts, Hyder was named the Chuck Hughes Most Improved Player by his Lions teammates.

Hyder, who spent much of the 2015 season on the Lions practice squad, came out of nowhere to lead the team in sacks (8) and 11 tackles for loss in 2016.
