When it comes to the offseason, the Detroit Lions certainly have a TON of needs and there is no question about it that GM Brad Holmes is thinking hard and long about what he can do to solidify the defense.
One position the Lions need to improve upon is safety and it is a safe bet that they attack that position in either free agency or the 2022 NFL Draft.
According to Chad Forbes, he expects the Lions to address their safety issues with two free-agent signings, one of them being New Orleans Saints S Marcus Williams, if the price is reasonable.
Williams is arguably the top safety who should soon be available in free agency and though I would love to see him in the Honolulu blue and silver, he could prove to be a bit too expensive.
That being said, if Brad Holmes can find a way to fit Williams’ into the budget, he would be a HUGE signing for the Lions.
#Lions FA Direction? Expect they address Safety with 2 signings. Marcus Williams if the price is reasonable fits. Perhaps Jordan Whitehead, Justin Reid or DeShon Elliott. Lets them focus draft on premium positions. Need to add to WR corps, but don't see a top of the market buy.
