It was the debut of new Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff this past Sunday during the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers.
And despite a costly 2nd quarter pick-six, Goff faired well in his first game in the Motor City, completing 38 of 57 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the Lions on touchdown drives of 86 and 59 yards late in the 4th quarter to keep the fans who remained at Ford Field on the edge of their seats.
And he’ll be looking to help his new team even up their record at 1-1 when he faces the division rival Green Bay Packers for the first time while wearing the Honolulu blue. And prior to tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup, he explained that the Motor City is where he’s supposed to be – and as he puts it, hopefully long term.
“I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be,” he said on Monday Night Countdown. “Once I was able to get in this building and be around my teammates, it really sunk in this is where I’m supposed to be and where I’m supposed to be for, hopefully, a long time.”
The Lions face the Packers tonight on Monday Night Football starting at 8:15 PM EST.
