It wasn’t long ago that the Detroit Lions decided to make Frank Ragnow the highest paid player in the NFL at his position, rewarding him with a four year deal worth just under $70 million. No. 77 will now be hauling in $13.5 million per year.
And it was a strong year for Ragnow in 2020, as he did not allow a sack in 929 snaps, and only had three penalties called against him all. However, despite earning his first career Pro Bowl selection along with earning second-team AP All-Pro honors, his name was conspicuously absent from the recently released NFL Top 100 list.
In fact, the only Lions player named on the list was T.J. Hockenson, who clocked in at No. 93.
Despite the snub, his team is certainly appreciative of his services, as he was declared a ‘foundational piece’ by general manager Brad Holmes.
“We are ecstatic to come to this agreement and to have Frank be a leader on our team for years to come,” Holmes said in a statement shortly after the deal was announced earlier this year.
