We are closing in on the Detroit Lions‘ first regular-season game of the Dan Campbell/Brad Holmes era and I am not going to lie… I AM FIRED UP!
In order for the Lions to pick up a win on Sunday, they will have to figure out a way to slow down the San Francisco 49ers rushing attack, while also figuring out a way to keep quarterback Jared Goff off of the turf.
Not surprisingly, the 49ers are currently an 8.5 point favorite over the Lions, despite the game being played at Ford Field, and almost every single “expert” is picking San Francisco to win easily.
But I have a feeling.
When the 49ers line up on offense, the fans at Ford Field are going to be louder than they have ever been before and that will be a huge factor in the game.
I believe the Lions' defensive line will be a strength in 2021 and they are going to shock a lot of people when they are able to limit the 49ers rushing attack on Sunday afternoon. If they can do that, the 49ers will be forced to throw the ball and that is not what they want to do.
When the Lions have the ball, the question is, can Jared Goff do enough to put points on the board? With starting LT Taylor Decker out with an injury, it may be a long day for Goff and the Lions' offense but I believe they will do just enough to outscore the 49ers.
Final score prediction:
San Francisco 49ers 17
