Detroit Pistons are the ‘perfect trade partner’ for Boston Celtics

The 2020 NBA Draft is just one day away ant our Detroit Pistons currently hold the No. 7 selection in the opening round.

But the question is, will the Pistons stand pat and make a selection at No. 7 or will they trade the pick to either move up or down in the draft.

As I have written about previously, I believe the Pistons will attempt to trade down in the draft, specifically with the Boston Celtics, who have three first-round picks.

According to James Edwards III of the Athletic (Edwards first planted this seed in my head about a month ago), the Pistons are the perfect trade partner for the Celtics. Edwards suggests the Pistons send their No. 7 pick to the Celtics for picks 14, 26, and 30.

From The Athletic:

The Celtics have three first-round picks, the best of which is No. 14, and are in win-now mode. The end of Boston’s roster is full of project players, and it wouldn’t make one ounce of sense for it to make all three selections Wednesday. The Pistons, on paper, are the perfect trade partner. The No. 7 pick would allow the Celtics to jump into the top 10 and grab USC’s Onyeka Okongwu or Hayes. Boston is in need of a center, as well as another creative ball handler. Detroit, in return, would get three swings in a draft that could have some sturdy prospects in the back half.

Nation, if this trade is on the table, should the Pistons take it?
