The Detroit Red Wings welcomed back an old friend to Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night.
Forward Gus Nyqvist, who was drafted 121st overall in the 2008 Draft by the Red Wings, played in Hockeytown from 2011 to 2019 until his trade to the San Jose Sharks at least season's trade deadline.
He signed a free-agent deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets this summer, and tonight played his first game against Detroit at Little Caesars Arena.
The team played a tribute video for him on the scoreboard, and Nyqvist was clearly appreciative.

#RedWings welcome back #CBJ forward Gustav Nyquist and it looked like Nyquist was a little emotional. 💕 pic.twitter.com/itUrjGzq29
