The Detroit Lions have put themselves in a VERY difficult position. After dropping back to back games, they now sit at 3-5 and have an uphill battle to get back into the NFC Playoff picture.
On Wednesday, the Lions continued their preparations for this Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears and according to reports, they were without a couple of key starters.

Nation, what do you think about the Lions chances this weekend against the Bears?
Rich Gannon thinks Matthew Stafford is an overpaid loser
Let’s face it, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is a lightning rod. Some believe he is an elite quarterback in the NFL while others believe he is to blame for the Lions inability to get over the hump.
One former NFL signal-caller who is not a big fan of Stafford is CBS Sports Network analyst Rich Gannon.
On Monday, Gannon said he is “sick and tired of talking about Matthew Stafford” and he claimed Stafford is one of the main reasons why the Lions are currently in last place in the NFC North.
From the Detroit Free Press:
“The guy is overpaid,” Gannon said. “He’s been one of the highest-paid quarterbacks over the last four or five years and he’s a stat king. He picks up a lot of yards and production in garbage time.”
Prior to last season, Stafford signed a 5-year, $135 million contract, which made him the highest paid player in NFL history at the time. That contract has since been surpassed by Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins, and Jimmy Garoppolo.
Gannon had a career passer rating of 84.7, Stafford currently sits at 88.7.
Nation, do you agree with former NFL quarterback Rich Gannon or has he lost his mind?
