JUST IN: Detroit Lions make decision regarding playoff banners; reveal new video boards

If you are a fan of the Detroit Lions you are well aware of their lack of success over the years. In fact, the Lions have been so bad in terms of winning playoff games that they have only won one since 1957.

When you are that bad, apparently you start to feel like it’s necessary to hang banners just for making it to the playoffs. That’s a move the Lions made when they hung Wild Card banners at Ford Field, much to the dismay of many (seems like most) of their fans.

On Wednesday, Lions team president Rod Wood announced those playoff banners would no longer hang from the rafters at Ford Field.

It’s nice that Wood realizes that just making the playoffs should not be celebrated anymore and that winning a Super Bowl is all that matters to Lions fans.

New Video Boards

One of the biggest parts of the Ford Field $100 million renovations leading up to the 2017 season is the new scoreboards and to say they are amazing may be an understatement.

On Wednesday, the Lions gave a media tour of Ford Field and the new renovations. The tour included a demonstration video playing on the new video boards which pointed out the difference from last season to now.

More Upgrades

When fans attend a game for the first time this season at Ford Field, they will certainly see some pretty cool upgrades including a grab and go snack bar which should speed up some of the concession lines, the Corner Bar, brand new suites, and new ribbon boards at the Gate A entrance, just to name a few.
