LOOK: Michigan State to don white helmets for first time in 60+ years

The football uniforms for the Michigan State Spartans have been tweaked here and there over the years, but a long-time constant has always been some variation of a green football helmet with a single, solid white stripe.

Well that is going to change. The official Twitter account for MSU football revealed this all-white uniforms with white helmets on Tuesday.

This look will be for the Saturday, September 9 home game against Western Michigan.

It will be the first time since 1954 that MSU has donned an ensemble that includes white helmets. You can view the entire history of the Spartan football uniforms here.
