During the first quarter of Saturday’s game vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a sprained ankle, which caused him to sit out for the remainder of the game.
The big question is, will Stafford play in the Lions’ final game of the season or will he shut it down.
On Monday, Stafford spoke to the media and he made it clear that he wants to play on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings if he is “good.”
“If I’m good, I want to be out there, I want to play,” Stafford told reporters.

Stafford also asked about why he hopped to the locker room rather than taking a cart.
“I don’t want to get on a cart unless I have to,” Stafford said. “They told me they were going to bring a cart and I told them no.”

As far as needing thumb surgery at the end of the season, Stafford says he does not believe that will be necessary.
