After a so-so 2018 campaign, the hope was that Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford would bounce back in a big way in 2019.
Though the Lions have dropped three-straight games to move to 2-3-1 on the season, Stafford has absolutely balled out up to this point.
In fact, through 6 games, Stafford has completed 62.4% of his passes for 1,751 yards and 13 touchdowns to go along with just three interceptions.
Now, as you know, everybody and their brother has an opinion as to which quarterbacks are the best in the league and heading into the season, most did not have Stafford anywhere near the top 10.
But what about an objective stat which ranks the NFL quarterbacks from best to worst?
Well, we have you covered.
Thanks to Football Outsiders and their amazing DVOA statistic, we can see exactly which quarterbacks have been the best through the first 7 weeks of the season.
According to DVOA, Stafford is currently the No. 4 quarterback in the NFL, behind just Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, and Russell Wilson.
Here is a look at the Top 20, according to DVOA.
Nation, whether you are a Stafford supporter or a Stafford hater, you cannot argue that he has not played at a very high level in 2019.
Let's hope this continues!
