According to a report from ESPN, Michigan co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss has been placed on administrative leave while the school’s police department is investigating a crime involving Weiss that took place in December at Schembechler Hall. Weiss has since released a statement acknowledging the investigation.
Why is Michigan OC Matt Weiss under investigation?
ESPN is reporting that Michigan’s police department told them that they are investigating a “report of computer access crimes” involving Matt Weiss.
“I am aware of the ongoing investigation by the University of Michigan Police Department and fully cooperating with investigators,” Weiss said in a statement to ESPN. “I look forward to the matter being resolved. Out of respect for the integrity of the investigation, I will not have any further comment.”
“The University of Michigan Police Department is investigating a report of computer access crimes that occurred at Schembechler Hall during December 21-23, 2022,” University of Michigan deputy chief of police Crystal James said in the statement. “Since this is an ongoing investigation there is no additional information to share.”
Weiss has been with the Wolverines for two seasons, both of which ended in a trip to the College Football Playoff.
