Michigan State AD comments on chances of Mark Dantonio being fired

It has been a very tough season for Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State Spartans. After entering the season with what was supposed to be a clear cut top 5 defense and an improved offense, MSU is 4-4 through their first eight games and the finger-pointing is well underway.

Because of their struggles, especially on offense, many are saying it is time for Michigan State to move on from Dantonio.

On Friday, Spartans Athletic Director Bill Beekman said he still believes in Dantonio, despite the tough season so far.

From Detroit Free Press:

“It obviously hasn’t been the season we hoped it would be at this point,” Beekman said during a telephone call on Friday. “But we have a lot of football left to play. So we’ll see how the season goes.”

But what about firing Dantonio if the 2019 season continues to be a disappointment?

“That is not even a discussion,” Beekman said. “Mark’s our head coach, there’s no question about that.”
