Josh Gattis is extending his stay in Ann Arbor.
Per MLive, the Michigan Wolverines quietly inked their offensive coordinator last month to a contract extension through January of 2023.
The information was obtained thanks to a FOIA request with the university, and the news had not been previously reported anywhere else.
The new deal that keeps Gattis in Ann Arbor through January of 2023 and includes a pay raise from $900,000 to $1 million, along with several bonus payments should the Wolverines reach certain on-field accomplishments.
Under Gattis, the Wolverines’ offense finished 44th nationally in scoring with an average of 31.7 points per game. However, their numbers slipped in the shortened 2020 campaign, falling to 66th nationally in scoring.
The Wolverines have several new assistants under head coach Jim Harbaugh, including bringing aboard alum Mike Hart as running backs coach and Matt Weiss as QB’s coach
