Newly-released QB Dwayne Haskins releases statement

After being benched during his team's loss against the Carolina Panthers, the Washington Football Team decided to part ways with quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

The No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft had also had his captaincy removed after being spotted partying without a facemask following his team's Week 15 loss to Seattle.

He can now be signed by any NFL team.

He released a statement on his Twitter account, saying he believes this experience will make him better in the long run.

“My time with the WFT has unfortunately come to an end,” Haskins tweeted. “I thank the team & fans for the opportunity to play for the team I grew up rooting for. I take full responsibility for not meeting the standards of a NFL QB & will become a better man & player because of this experience.”

Where will Haskins ultimately end up?
