We are now less than a week away from the 2020 NFL trade deadline and things are heating up for the Detroit Lions as they have already made one deal which landed them with DE Everson Griffen.

By trading the Cowboys a draft pick for Griffen, the Lions pretty much announced to the world that they are buyers rather than sellers.
But will Griffen be the only move the Lions make or could general manager Bob Quinn look to add another piece or two to the puzzle?
According to a piece published in The Athletic on Wednesday, Chris Burke looks at 10 trades that could make sense for the Lions, following their trade for Everson Griffen.

One proposed trade that stood out to me includes the Lions sending S Will Harris to the Houston Texans for OLB Whitney Mercilus and a fifth-round draft pick.
Here is what Burke has to say about the trade he is proposing.
Just to see what it looks like, here’s an NHL-style move for Mercilus — the Lions taking on a rough contract, at a slight premium, to let another GM clear cap space. Harris is young enough to be applied to a rebuild in Houston. Mercilus is owed a guaranteed base salary of $10.5 million next season, then he’d carry a post-trade cap number of $13.25 million for 2022 and ’23.
If the Lions did this straight up, they honestly might be able to make it happen for something like a 2022 conditional sixth.
Nation, if this offer was on the table, would you pull the trigger?
