It’s been a weird last couple weeks around the Detroit hockey scene. For the first time in a long time, the Stanley Cup Playoffs have gone on without the Detroit Red Wings as participants. The Wings also played their final game at Joe Louis Arena, a place they’ve called home since 1979.
With the Wings all getting ready to part ways for what’s going to be another long summer, the team’s social media department put together a pretty awesome ‘Thank You Fans’ video that includes current players as well as some alumni. Check it out below:

With Detroit moving on to Little Caesars Arena in September, it’s a nice way to officially close The Joe and thank all the fans for supporting Detroit Red Wings hockey there for all these years. We, the fans, certainly made it hell for opponents in that arena and I’m sure we’ll make Little Caesars Arena just as nasty to play in for the opposing teams.
