Thankfully, Stafford did not injure his head or neck but, unfortunately, he did partially tear a ligament in the thumb on this throwing hand.
Though Stafford has been limited this week, the Lions have reportedly made the decision that he will start this coming Sunday vs. the Carolina Panthers.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that Stafford did not have any major setbacks during the week and as of now, he is expected to get the nod.
Lions QB Matthew Stafford is expected to start Sunday against the Panthers, per source. No major setbacks on his thumb injury so the team expects him to be available as of now.
