Rumor suggests Detroit Lions will move up in NFL Draft to select QB

On Saturday, news broke that the Detroit Lions are going to trade quarterback Matthew Stafford if they can get “fair market value” in return.

If the Lions are able to trade Stafford (I would assume there will be at least a handful of teams bidding), they will almost certainly receive a first-round pick and more, which will give them the draft capital they would need to move up in the 2021 NFL Draft.

According to NFL Draft Scout and Insider Matt Miller, he has heard that the Lions will trade Stafford and use the draft capital acquired to move up from No. 7 and draft a quarterback.

Nation, two questions. 1) Would you like to see the Lions trade up in the 2021 NFL Draft to select a quarterback and 2) If they do, which QB should they target?

As much as I love Zach Wilson out of BYU, I would not be willing to use the draft capital received from a Stafford trade to move up to No. 2 or No. 3. Doing so would not be a value move and would be more like a move that Bob Quinn would have made.

That being said, if Wilson drops a bit and the Lions can move up without giving up the farm, they should pull the trigger.
