An eye-popping scoop from NFL Insider Ian Rappaport earlier today revealed that the Detroit Lions are reportedly interested in bringing aboard Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider as the official successor for Bob Quinn, who was dismissed by Detroit in late November alongside coach Matt Patricia.
Because Schneider is not protected under the league’s anti-tampering policy, he’d be free to interview with any open position offer that he receives. With 110 victories in 11 seasons as well as two Super Bowl appearances, Schneider is viewed as one of the NFL’s top men at his position.
However, Schneider pumped the brakes on the rumors surrounding his name on Seattle’s pregame radio show on Seattle’s KIRO AM prior to their matchup against Arizona.
According to Schneider, it’s been an “interesting morning”, but it doesn’t sound as though he’s in any hurry to leave his current home.

Schneider called it an interesting morning when asked by @RaibleKIRO7 about the NFL Network report stating that Detroit will pursue him. Here was Schneider's full response: pic.twitter.com/dcc6d4IRCA

While this is a response typical of someone working for a team that still has business to attend to, does it cast any doubt on the potential prospect of Detroit’s alleged interest in him?
