The Michigan Wolverines landed their first quarterback prospect for the Class of 2018 on Sunday. Announcing his pledge to the Wolverines was 4-star pro-style QB Joe Milton (Orlando, FL), doing so in style with this video:
Thanks everyone for congratulating me on my commitment #alwayskeepgodfirst #GoBlue

Milton (6-6, 222 pounds) is regarded as a top-10 pro-style quarterback and among the top 50 players in the state of Florida. His pledge to Michigan comes a little less than a month after he unofficially visited Ann Arbor back in mid-April. Michigan offered him back in February and he ultimately chose the Wolverines over a host of big-time programs — LSU, Florida State and Clemson to name a few.
Milton had been on Michigan’s radar for some time, but perhaps not their first choice all along. They were also eyeing another 4-star signal caller in Dorian Thompson-Robinson (Las Vegas, NV | No. 3 dual-threat / No. 2 in NV), but he committed to UCLA in late April. I think it’s safe to say that Michigan is more than thrilled to have a commitment from Milton, however.
The Olympia High School product will be participating in the Elite 11 quarterback camp next month.
The addition of Milton now gives Michigan eight commits for the Class of 2018. He becomes the third player on the offensive side of the ball for that class, joining 4-star guard Emil Ekiyor (Indianapolis, IN), the program’s current top-rated prospect, and 3-star running back Christian Turner (Buford, GA).
Milton is the first commit for Michigan post-Rome trip and first since the Green Bros, cornerbacks Gemon and German, committed to the Wolverines in late April.
