The Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders appeared destined for overtime, but Red Wings defenseman Danny DeKeyser had other ideas.
He took the puck off a clean faceoff win from Henrik Zetterberg and simply threw it on net – never a bad idea. The puck deflected off of defenseman Nick Leddy’s leg and then off Thomas Hickey’s skate and past stunned goalie Thomas Greiss. The score proved to be the game winner with just 28.9 seconds to play.

The goal was DeKeyser’s third goal of the season, and earned Detroit a huge two points in the standings!
