There are often moments in sports that transcend the heat of the battles and remind us all that sportsmanship still exists. Sunday evening in Edmonton produced such a moment.
Before Game 3 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks, Canadian country singer Brett Kissel had his microphone fail during his rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” He attempted to sing the anthem twice before encouraging the crowd to sing with him.
Fortunately, the microphone began working again before the rendition of the Canadian national anthem.
