As GM of the Detroit Lions, Brad Holmes should be doing everything he can to trade the No. 7 overall pick to the highest bidder and it sounds like that is exactly what he is trying to do. (At least that is the perception)
Holmes spoke to the media on Friday during a pre-2021 NFL Draft press conference and he admitted that he has had trade discussions with other teams.
“Yes, there have been (trade) discussions with other teams,” Lions GM Brad Holmes told reporters Friday when asked about the possibility of trading down, via MLive.com. “I will keep those in house, but yeah, there have been discussions.”
Now, don’t get me wrong, I would bet that each and every NFL GM has had discussions about either trading up or down in the 2021 NFL Draft, so this should not come as any surprise. That being said, I do believe that Holmes priority is to trade the No. 7 pick. The only question is, what kind of package can he get for the pick?
On Tuesday, Good Morning Football tweeted out a trio of theoretical trade offers for the No. 7 pick, including one with division-rival Chicago Bears.
Which one of these trade offers would you accept if you were Bob Quinn?
In my opinion, the theoretical offer from the Patriots would be the best return package.
if I was brad holmes, I would talk to a few different teams. But possibly have no draft picks, starting with New England, ask for Dontae Hightower, kyle van noy, Matthew Judon, Devin McCourty, Stephon Gilmore, JC Jackson, and sign Jason McCourty, and ask for their 3rd round 2021 overall pick while handing them my 2021 1st round, 2nd round, and 3rd round. As well as trading away Danny Amendola, Marvin Jones Jr., and a few other players like Danny Shelton, Jarrad Davis, Everson Griffin, Mike Davis, Reggie Ragland, Duron Harmon, and Chase Daniel. Now to the rams, I want Jalen Ramsey, Signing John Johnson, Aaron Donald, and Michale Brokers, as well as Cooper Kupp, Jared Goff, Tyler Higbee and Robert Woods.
